Sometimes if I am really quiet and if my mind is somewhat calm, I can hear the spirits of the trees calling my name. I can feel them pulling me towards them, like a fish on a hook, reeling me in to tell me a secret.
Most times my mind is too busy drumming with thoughts that bounce around my head like a million balloons just waiting to pop. I am not often lucky to be chosen by Mother Nature to pass along hidden secrets that are reserved for those who are able to fully connect with the Earth.
But when I am lucky enough, my ears start to ring, my mind goes still and I focus on the message being sent. I struggle to make sense of the messages most of the time, but I do my best anyway to try understand. I wish I was able to be so confident and at peace with my own self to be on such a high frequency to understand the energies around me.
Practice makes perfect, right? I have a wind chime, more than one, but the one in the above photo was an expensive wind chime made of seashells, bought in Greece last year on an island. I honestly forgot which island, but if I am not mistaken I believe it was Paros Island. I fell in love with it instantly and had to have it. For the next few months after purchasing it, I did my absolute best to keep as safe and in tact as possible, since the shells were so soft and delicate.
I was amazed when it survived as many plane rides as it did and the amount of traveling it has been through. But now it hangs peacefully in the garden, chiming to the tunes of the wind and spilling secrets of the sea and the Earth that maybe should not be spilt. I stand there and watch it twirl in the wind, listening to the delicacy of the melody created by shells that were once wild and untouched, now hanging on a peaceful tree with a loss of freedom, but ever so loved and cherished by a young woman.
Wind chimes are cheeky gossips and will share the secrets of the wind in a heartbeat, but that can only be heard by those in tune with themselves and their spirits. If you have a wind chime, try to quieten your mind to make room for the chit chat of it and see what amusing things your wind chime can come up with.
